Probably one of the best coffees I’ve had. Food tastefully served & scrumptious. Staff friendly & attentive
I have visited The Alternate Root Cafe and its always stunning, The coffee has got to be the best coffee I’ve had in Australia so far a powerful full-bodied rich medium roast with deep flavours that hit just right (Best experienced sit down in a mug), while powerful it's perfectly balanced without any bitterness or sour notes. It's clear why they've been recognised for top coffee in the region. The food portions are generous and everything we ordered was incredibly tasty fresh ingredients they in fact list on the menu where they source the ingredients, well-prepared, and full of flavour. I ended up having breakfast there each morning. The Atmosphere elevated the experience by the stunning historic building itself. Housed in the beautifully refurbished old Trickett's building, it features this gorgeous antique pressed metal (copper-toned) ceiling that you have to look up and admire it's a real standout feature that adds so much character and warmth to the space. The whole vibe is cozy, welcoming, and full of charm. Highly recommend this place with its great coffee, hearty food, and beautiful historic setting. We'll definitely be back.
The sandwiches here were very disappointing and the food timing was very off. The hot plate came out 20 minutes before the sandwiches did and so one of our party had already eaten… Surprised me as the sandwiches weren’t freshly made, they were just popped onto a press. On the plus side, the hot plate was nice. I found it to be a little underwhelming for the price, however. I love the aesthetic of this cafe but the food quality was meh and wouldn’t return unless for coffee.
Stopped in for lunch on our way from Tamworth to Brisbane. What a beautiful space! We had the peri peri chicken salad which was so delicious and fresh. We also got the Lumberjack cake for our journey home and it was awesome, had never heard of it before but now we need to try to replicate it at home! Service and coffee were also great, thanks team!
Great coffee shop to eat inside or outside. Service was quick considering they had alot of customers. Great looking and the atmosphere was very good.
