What people say
I was expecting exceptional but what we had was underwhelming. Duck spring rolls were very small and bland without the hoi sin dipping sauce (which tasted like shop bought), seafood money bags were small and pretty meh, with noc jam sauce (I think, which was also like shop bought) and we added Korean cauliflower bites which, except for the Korean dipping sauce, were very ordinary with zero flavour except for the sauce (which you can get in all supermarkets). We had a Wagu Beef dish which was supposed to be in a peppercorn sauce. Zero peppercorns were seen or tasted in this dish although the meat was juicy and tender @$40. Coconut rice was the highlight. Fluffy and full of coconut flavour. I wanted a glass of Pinot Grisio which they didn't offer by the glass. A bottle was $60 and the Chardonnay was also $60 per bottle but it was offered by the glass @ $15. I wasn't really impressed. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great. Left feeling a tad disappointed.
Our fave place to eat on the Central Coast. My partner and I come here almost every second weekend- it’s just THAT good. The staff are super friendly, menu isn’t too expensive and the food is just top notch. Our go to is always the kingfish ceviche & miang goong to start and we try to switch up a main & rice to share. Washed down with a frosty glass of Chardonnay. In saying that, if you order the toothfish Penang curry (pictured), snapper fillet or kung pao chicken (pictured)… you’re in for a treat! Honestly can’t fault this place- I love it
Delicious food with great presentation, warm atmosphere, and genuinely good service. Everything was flavorful and enjoyable — definitely coming back!
Located just behind the Crown Plaza Terrigal is Once Again Asian eatery With seating for approximately 75 + ( and a small separate private function room ) all Styled in modern black decor with hints of deep velvet green, the main seating area is a lovely large sunroom styled area with glass louvre windows, and the other side there is also seating with a bar with a rather large drinks menu. I was greeted and shown to my table promptly. It was quite warm in the restaurant but the waiter opened the louveres and a lovely sea breeze was blowing in and cooling everything down. Table water was served but unfortunately it warm and unpleasant. The menu includes a vegetarian section and quite a good and broad range of everything else, which is mostly Thai style food ( turned on it head ) and served deconstructed/ semi al la carte style. The salt and paper tofu was cooked well, crunchy and served with a delicious thick rich satay sauce but the tofu alone was tasteless and no salt and pepper to be seen nor tasted. If it had not been served with the side of satay it would of been very ordinary. The serve consisted of 12 small triangles. ( $20 ) The roti was a serving of 2 and was accompanied by a small serving of satay sauce. ($9) The won ton soup was surprisingly very hot and spicy, ( which is not mentioned on the menu ) the wontons were soft and flavourful but the broth just too hot, serving size was 4 wontons in a medium bowl of the spicy broth with a few vegetables ( onion, baby pak choy, red radish, Swiss brown mushroom and sesame seeds, coriander and chilli garnishes ( $25 ) The satay chicken was nice. It was very soft and tender. The serving size was fairly small, it came with 1 roti, a serving of satay sauce, 1 chicken thigh, 4 slices of cucumber and a few pickled daikon ribbons. ( $35 ) The pork ribs although delicious did not taste of sweet and sour whatsoever but were flour coated and deep fried/ crispy and delicious with a very light coat of sauce but it was enough, But this dish was a rather poor choice as it was a very hard dish to eat in a fine dining restaurant without making a big mess and near impossible to eat with a knife and fork. Delicious but not the most elegant of choices. ( but they do bring you baby wipes ) ( $39 ) I definitely don’t recommend this dish if on a date or special occasion. This is the kind of dish you need to eat alone when no one is watching lol. Alcohol drinks were priced on the high side, standard nip drinks at $12 -$17 each. Beer from $10+ Cocktails $25+, non alcohol/ soft drink from $6, juice $7, Water $6+. The Service was professional and attentive by all staff I encountered. The Music was a mix of 70’s/80’s classic hits and played at a very low level but as the restaurant filled you could barely hear the music at all as the noise of diners took over. Suitable for a quiet dinner for 2 or right through to a medium function or party. The restaurant was very clean and tidy in every aspect. Overall it was a middle of the road dining experience. It wasn’t overly great but wasn’t overly bad either. Bookings are essential ( with credit card ) Medium to high pricing. Would I return .. possibly. Would I recommend.. yes.
Had dinner here for the first time and absolutely loved the food! Kingfish ceviche, dumplings and the kung pao chicken were delicious. We had the massaman which was a variation I haven’t had before but was still super yummy. Service, drinks and atmosphere were great and the staff were helpful and friendly. Will definitely be back again ☺️
