Puckey's Beach is an off-leash green zone beach with good parking, toilets, and space to spread out. It's close to the lifesavers' patrol area, so human swimmers can enjoy the water too. Check signage for current zone boundaries.
Off-leash is permitted in the designated green-zone section of this beach only; dogs must stay on-leash elsewhere. Check the signs at the beach for the off-leash zone boundary.
Apparently the Wollongong Council has decided they're not as dog friendly as previously mentioned. Dogs only allowed on leash at certain times.
Good dog beach, plenty of space. Not far from lifesavers either so humans can get a good swim and enjoy also. Good parking even on a nice summers day. There is also a great walking trail near by. Only negative is something that can’t be prevented, due to the nature of the sand and the fact that it is slightly darker, it gets a lot hotter than other dog beaches. Do not take your dog here on a very warm day, they will burn their paws on the walk back up. Tip: it can be tricky to find the dog section of the beach, look for the dirt trail on the right of the parking, head up there and then turn left. From there you will see signs pointing to the leashed and unleashed sections of the beach.
Randomly found this beach and it was dog friendly. It was our baby's first time on the beach and she really enjoyed it. We will be looking for more dog friendly beaches that isn't too busy!
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
