Blaxland Oval is a popular dog-friendly park where dogs are welcome on lead.
Dogs are welcome on leash. Blue Mountains City Council's default rule applies: dogs must be on a lead in public areas unless the site is a designated off-leash area. Please follow signs on site and remove all dog waste. (Source: Blue Mountains City Council.)
Great little park for toddlers. Not fully enclosed but safe from cars etc. Good variety of equipment all in good working order plus amenities available including drinking water and clean toilet with change table. Natural tree shade but could do with a few shade sails for those summer days.
Always forget this park exists. Its great for sports, general recreation, kids, dogs, excercise.
Great local oval, great for playing sport on, or using the oval for exercise
St John's Oval is a great place to hang out, there's a great park for all ages and a basketball court! There's an oval with four goals so you have all the space you need to run around and have fun!!
One of the worst features of Blue Mountains infrastructure is the neglect of sporting venues and ovals in particular. This is actually one of the better ones considering they have netting surrounding it, however, it's in need of repair, e.g., the netting has several holes in it. Now imagine having to fetch your ball every time it goes through the hole, running into 'Australian wildlife' infested bushland. Not to mention the quality of the grass is laughable, it's more comparable to the ground seen at a 'rodeo' since it's a slab of uneven dirt in many places. No wonder Australia is so bad at football!
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
