Dog-friendly venues in Double Bay

Lough Playing Fields has off-leash access between 3:30pm and 10:30am, reverting to on-leash during the day and during organised sport. The park has drinking water, toilets, shade, and parking. The timed off-leash window means it's primarily a morning and evening spot for dog owners.

Royal Oak Hotel in Double Bay allows dogs at the outdoor streetside tables. Guilfoyle Park is around 130 metres away for a walk through the village.

Steyne Park is a lovely green space by the harbour in Double Bay, popular with families, picnickers and local dog walkers. Dogs are allowed off-leash at all times in the northern end only, except during organised sailing events, and on-leash elsewhere, kept clear of the playground. There is shade, toilets, a playground and parking on hand. A relaxed harbourside park with an off-leash northern section.

The Golden Sheaf in Double Bay is an iconic local with a heated, partly covered beer garden where dogs are welcome. The pub goes beyond the basics with a chef-crafted dog menu and regular dog events. The food is consistently well-regarded, and the beer garden has enough space to settle in with your dog for the afternoon. Steyne Park is just 100 metres away if your dog needs a stretch.

Guilfoyle Park is a small local park in Double Bay with a quiet, neighbourhood feel near the village. Dogs are welcome on-leash, kept clear of playgrounds and food areas, with parking on hand for a short walk. It is a simple pocket of green rather than a destination park. A handy on-leash spot close to the shops.

Murray Rose Pool, also known as Redleaf Pool, is a beautiful harbourside ocean pool in Double Bay with floating platforms and a relaxed, family feel. Dogs are permitted on-leash in the park up to the cafe level, and are not allowed at the swimming enclosure or in the adjoining Blackburn Gardens. There is shade, grass and toilets nearby. A scenic spot for an on-leash walk above the pool.
