Henson Park Hotel

Dogs welcome

Updated 13 May 2026

Henson Park Hotel is a proper inner west local — a community pub that supports the local footy club and genuinely welcomes dogs and kids. Dogs are allowed in the beer garden. Wicks Park is around 515 metres away if your dog needs a run before settling in.

Ah the Henson Park Hotel (aka 'The Henson') - my local Inner West drinking hole. Stalwart of the community, supporting local footy, dogs, and kids welcome. A great example of inclusivity in Marrickville. Great food options and excellent beer selection with a pool table in the sports bar and no pokies on site - instead they've got a games room! Beautiful art-deco bones, renovated with care. Come in for a beer midweek and get treated like a local. Bring the family on the weekend and then the ferals run rouge in the designated kids area! What more could you ask for? Cracker location, walking distance from Enmore, Sydenham and Marrickville markets. This pub shouldn't be slept on! Great food, great tunes, great vibes. Support this community pillar, buy a bevvy or a meal - bottle shop also available! Keep up the great work gang! ❤️

Good overall vibes and some parking in the area. Food was decent but took a while to come out during the busy evening. Shoutout to the waitress that took our order, she was very understanding and accommodating of an order to our mistake

Popped in for a Monday lunch - had the grilled Barramundi and chips….perfectly cooked fish, very tasty meal. Only hitch was having to wait for over 45 minutes for our meals - the pub was literally empty so we didn’t know what the hold up was. Manager was very apologetic and gave us a free round of drinks, which was appreciated. Great local pub with great pub food. Recommended.

Stopped in for a drink on a Friday arvo. Pints were $13 and wine was $13. Not ridiculous pricing but not cheap either. They had 2 for 1 share plates. We had the fried calamari and dim sims. Both were good. This place I am guessing would be packed with families and big groups during peak times.

Had dinner with a group of 14 - 9 adults, 4 children, 1 baby - and we were very comfortable and happy! Kids loved the play area and food. I had the knuckle sandwich and prawn toast and they were yummy as. Honest feedback: my partner thought the chicken on his club sandwich was dry; my older son thought the garlic bread had the texture as if it had been heated in a microwave, so we asked to have it put under the grill and sent back to us and the staff obliged; a friend had a burger and felt the beef was cold, like out of the fridge and not reheated properly; a couple of my friends ordered margaritas and they weren’t so fond of them. Me personally, I had a great experience and would definitely come back.
