I came here for lunch over the weekend. It was quite busy, and the wait time was around 35 minutes, which is understandable for the weekend rush. The coffee was amazing, and kudos to the baristas. She definitely brought out the coffee profile, and her latte art was beautiful, especially the Pegasus design 😍 Unfortunately, the food was the letdown, which is why I have given a 2 star rating. I ordered the “Ona Nourish Bowl,” and the kale really put me off. The kale looked spoiled and it felt like whoever prepared it did not check the quality before serving. As shown in the photos, there were yellow bits and black spots on the leaves. I looked this up (quote): "kale with little black spots likely Is hosting some fungi or bacteria". I ended up scraping them to the side, but visually it was unappealing and made me question the freshness of the rest of the dish. Very unacceptable, especially when it's a recommended dish!!! It was disappointing, and I am not sure if I would return for lunch, although the coffee alone was a highlight, as well as their ice cream infused raspberry coffee.
We have been going to Ona in Marrickville since the original store. Arrived for lunch on a Sunday and we’re glad to have made a reservation. Straightaway we ordered a large Oat Raspberry Candy. It’s our favourite blend at Ona. Ordered a Nourish Bowl and an Eggs Benedict. Both dishes were beautifully presented and tasted delicious. We finished up with the Raspberry Candy Tiramisu and a special soft serve. Both were great dishes to end our meal. Very friendly staff and the best baristas in Sydney. Recommend making a booking for weekends.
ONA Coffee Marrickville is an amazing place with excellent service and very friendly staff. The team took the time to explain the coffee and menu in detail, which made the experience even better. Everything was welcoming and informative, especially if you enjoy learning more about coffee. Highly recommend trying the tteokbokki French toast it’s unique and delicious and don’t miss the Geisha coffee, which was outstanding. Will definitely come back again!
I recently visited ONA Coffee Sydney and it was easily one of the most unique cafe experiences I’ve had. The whole space feels more like a coffee bar than a typical cafe, and you can really see how much care goes into every cup. I tried the Elida Estate Torre and it was genuinely memorable. The coffee is poured in stages so you can experience how the flavour and aroma change throughout — starting bright and almost tea-like, then becoming deeper and more rounded. You can tell the baristas are very intentional with their technique, and it makes the coffee feel like an experience rather than just a drink. Food was also great. The Moroccan eggs were full of flavour with a nice gentle spice, and the raspberry candy tiramisu was light, fluffy, and not overly sweet. We also tried the tteokbokki French toast which was a really interesting sweet-savory combo that worked surprisingly well. The raspberry oat soft serve was a nice, refreshing finish. Overall, a really thoughtful cafe with excellent coffee, good food, and a relaxed atmosphere. Definitely worth visiting if you actually enjoy and appreciate quality coffee. For more honest reviews, be sure to follow along my food journey @munchies_with_angie on Instagram!
Coffee here was wonderful and probably one of the best in Sydney. Food here was tasty and felt healthy but the wait was too long (around 20 minutes after ordering). We were seated outside and later requested tap water but it was never provided before we left. In general the food and environment were good and it is better to make a reservation before coming.
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
