Vic on the Park is a large, flexible venue that works well for dogs thanks to the range of spaces available.
There are multiple areas to choose from, including indoor sections (excluding the gaming area), an outdoor deck, and a very large beer garden out the back. The rear space is the highlight, with plenty of room, along with shade and shelter that make it comfortable across different weather conditions.
It’s a good option if you’re meeting friends or staying a while, with enough space for dogs to settle without feeling crowded.
Dogs are welcome throughout the venue.
We brought Barry the dog for lunch and was so impressed! The outside is huge and was so nice to have a beer garden where we could lounge in the sun, order some really yummy food and we also got a great deal on the pitchers/jugs as a lunch time offer too! The MAIN thing we want to compliment is the staff- other places in Australia we have noticed aren’t great at customer service but here the staff were all friendly, welcoming and SO HELPFUL! They even loved Barry! It’s super dog friendly with water bowls everywhere for the dogs on warm days & you can take them anywhere inside. We would highly recommend the Vic on the Park and wish we lived closer as we would love to come back!
This place has such a fun and unique atmosphere. You have the nice bar energy inside but outside is more like a backyard party than a typical bar. The large outdoor area is perfect for groups. Prices are great. Food is realllly good. Service is 10/10 everyone is always so friendly even when it’s super busy. I love the laid back vibe and the relaxed energy. Plus this is one of the very few places in Sydney I feel comfortable striking up a conversation with people I don’t know. It’s just inviting like that. My go to place on the weekend when I don’t know where to go.
Excellent local pub owned Merivale. The food is great and the portions huge. The courtyard is spacious with lots of areas for eating, drinking and separate area for smoking. From day to night - this place has great vibes.
Always such a great vibe, we went on a Friday evening where it was packed with young (and old), people playing ball, doggos lolling about, what's not to love? Go for the happy hour, have a GREAT feed for not too much (share it with your loved ones if you can) and just soak in the inner west lifestyle. Can't beat it! Fantastic half chicken which is probably enough for two people watching their weight lol. The prawn katsu burger was also fab. Add in two aperol spritzes and you're sorted.
This USED to be one of my favourite places to go. The back area always had so fun and wicked atmosphere, busy, lively, and full of people having a genuinely good time. The live music was always a highlight, with a fun, relaxed vibe that made it easy to spend the whole evening there. However, I hadn't been in a while and I was really disappointed on my last visit. They've installed these huge betting screens right next to the stage, and honestly, they completely change the feel of the place. It feels like a real sell-out toxic move. When you're there to enjoy some good live music and have a wholesome night out with friends, the last thing you want is bright gambling ads and odds flashing away directly in your line of sight its such an ick. So sad they are contributing to such toxic stuff. really feels like they have been bought out by some giant company... The screens are sooo bright and hard to ignore. Instead of being able to focus on the band and soak up the atmosphere, you have the gross constant betting content in your face. It completely clashes with the vibe that made this venue so special in the first place. What used to feel like a community-focused live music venue now feels much more commercial, and for me it really takes away from the experience. Such a shame, because this was genuinely one of my favourite spots, but those screens seriously bring the whole vibe down in the main room.
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
