Amy's Place

Dogs likely welcome

Amy's Place is a park in Newtown. Dogs are generally allowed on a lead in NSW public parks unless signs say otherwise — but the rules here aren't confirmed, so check local signage before visiting.

Dog rules

–Inner West Council's "Dog exercise areas" page states: "By law, dogs must be on a leash in public places unless the area is a designated off-leash area." Inner West Council publishes a list of gazetted off-leash areas; this venue is not on that list, so the council's general on-leash rule applies under the NSW Companion Animals Act 1998. Council has trimmed the lower branches but Amy's tree looks healthy enough this wet August 2025.

Saw Amy's Place on google maps which told me I live 2 minutes walk away. Checked online n sad to read of Amy's early passing. Plenty of comments testifying much affection 4 her. Just wanna say I walk past the tree daily, n it is doing well. Spring 2023 now.. Some lovely red flowers appearing on Amy's tree. See photos.
