Coopers Hotel has an upstairs beer garden that's the main dog-friendly area. It's a straightforward outdoor space with some shade and shelter, giving dogs a place to settle.
Being in Newtown, it can get busy, but the upstairs setup gives a bit of separation from the main flow of the pub.
Dogs are welcome in the upstairs outdoor beer garden.
The drinks were great value, we liked that the f1 was on. Lots of dogs which is amazing. Live music was very nice, great vibe. We went on a Sunday so the roast was only $25 with a whole lamb shank, great deal. Good deals available evry day of the week.
We used to come to the Coopers all the time until we got dogs — now, a decade later, it’s dog-friendly and we’re back! The food is a real highlight. Everything is cooked fresh — no reheated or burnt chips or schnitzels sitting in a bain-marie all day! You might wait ten minutes longer for your meal, but it’s absolutely worth it. The staff are super friendly and hardworking, and the drinks are cheaper than other pubs in the area. Highly recommend! Coopers is back!!!
Lovely pub- comfy seats and great lunch special. Good steak. Been coming here for many years and it's still a great spot. Dog friendly and live music some nights.
Had the $14.00 chicken snitzel with chips. Salad and sauce (I got Diane) from the Wednesday specials food menu + Carlton dry (absolute steal and worth every cent!). Upstairs outdoor eating area was nice and sunny, beer was cold and food was very good, fresh, tasty and filling for the price. Food came relatively quickly, smelt and tasted delicious and was well presented. Staff on duty were engaging, friendly, attentive and helpful when approachwd for food/drink orders,.as was the staff member at the main bar downstairs. Close to public transport (bus stops are near by , parking may be limited) and centrally located in vibrant Newtown with a variety of independent, local shops nearby. Recommend and well worth the visit.
This used to be a great pub a place to laugh a place to meet your mates but refusing to put the Friday night footy on and instead playing mlb and American football reruns after being asked several times if they can change the channel - either Jeromy responses of “yes” “one sec” “let me ask my manager” “will do” 35 minutes later still no results Disappointing is an understatement
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
