Overly busy or understaffed bar. Good range of beers and other drinks. Lots of people eating and seeming to enjoy it. Nice art deco surroundings with period features. Nice fire place.
Old fashioned athmosphere, at time too dark with deem lights. Good service
A lovely bar with a great ambience and stately surrounds. We enjoyed being in the area near the fire, relaxing in the deep armchairs as we sipped our cocktails. No score on food as we used this bar as our pre-drinks for the Old City Bank.
Sadness - you can hear the history of this place ooze from the walls but this place seemed more like an airport bar than a “champagne” bar in a bougie historic hotel. To improve- this place would need champagne by the glass and bar/ table service to match the environment- symptomatic is the self serve cutlery, paper napkins and thick tacky wine glasses - screaming how little this place seems to care for service. Unfortunately those screams drown out the charm this place has lying just out of reach of its current existence. (The burger was tasty but again does it belong on a champagne bar or airport bar menu)
First time I've stopped in to have a bite to eat . I had the chicken burger, and my friend had the triple cheese toastie. Both were very tasty
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
