Had a fantastic dinner here. The cocktails set the vibe straight away — the Coco-lada in the coconut cream can was such a fun surprise and genuinely delicious. The food was spot on: crispy salt’n’peppa squid, light spring rolls, a refreshing papaya salad, and the lamb ragu that honestly shouldn’t be this good at a Vietnamese restaurant. Huge standout. The banh xeo and meat platter were the stars — big, bold, full of flavour, and perfect for sharing. Service was warm, atmosphere very Marrickville — relaxed, lively, and full of character. A reliable Inner West favourite. Would happily come back.
Before entering this restaurant, you would never expect how interesting and exciting Vietnam cuisine can be. The smoked ribs and rice paper roll kit are really nice. A good place for family and friends catch up.
Absolutely loved the lunch special at Hello Auntie Marrickville! The set is super good value: generous portions, and every dish is full of flavour. The presentation is beautiful as always, and the team here is so warm and welcoming. I especially loved the lamb ragu and the beef tartare: both perfectly seasoned and cooked with so much care. Perfect spot for a quick but satisfying lunch. Highly recommend giving their lunch special a try if you’re in the area!
One of my favourite Vietnamese restaurants in Sydney, love their creation and the vibe of the restaurant. My all time fav dish is Bánh Xèo, so crispy and fresh. Their new dishes like lamb ragu and duck dumplings are also very nice. Also, they have a wide selection of cocktails, good restaurant for a date or gathering.
This place came recommended by a mate. The best dish I had was the rice roll kit. I used to think Vietnamese rice rolls were all chewy, cold, and kinda flavourless, but the ones here are the bomb. You make the rolls yourself. Dip the rice sheet in warm water, chuck in whatever ingredients you like, and bam, you’ve got yourself a little pouch of juicy meat. The meat is grilled to perfection, tender, juicy, and a bit smoky from the grill. The cabbage and pickled carrot shreds balance it out perfectly. Nice vibe, good food, and no weekend surcharge. It’s GuuuuuD!!
