The Corner House, Bondi

I had my 21st birthday here and it was incredible. The food was sublime, the drinks were awesome and the venue itself earned my party as a favourite amongst everyone who came. Absolutely adore this place highly highly recommend.

Lovely atmosphere and great service, but the dishes didn’t quite hit the mark for us. Easy to book and a really pleasant atmosphere, not too loud or busy, which made it very easy to chat. The staff were friendly and attentive throughout, and service was quick. Unfortunately, the wine options weren’t really to my taste, and I felt a bit disappointed with my dish. I ordered the vodka pasta, and while the sauce itself was absolutely delicious, the dish felt like it needed something extra. I knew from the menu that it didn’t come with anything else, but once I finished it I realised I would have enjoyed it more with some vegetables, protein, or just a bit more substance overall. My friend felt similarly about her ravioli. On the positive side, another friend ordered the fish and was very happy with it, and we all enjoyed trying the cauliflower side, that was a standout. Overall, lovely staff and atmosphere, but the dishes we chose just weren’t quite to our taste. I’ve heard great things about the pizza, so I might return to try something different next time.

This place is across the road from my house, have gone for years but have found lately the service very poor and the staff quite rude. We have spent over $400 as a group of four and the arancini came as a plate of 3, we asked of one more could be added on and the waiter said yes no problem. Then 10 mins later another server came with a card reader to charge $6 for the extra piece. Customer service, throwing in the extra piece would have been an easy way of keeping us very happy. The waitress also added in what religious group her boss was part of which I thought was very unnecessary but on learning this, it’s not an establishment I will support again.

We had an early dinner at The Corner House on a weeknight. We were attended to immediately and food came out really quickly after ordering. We had a couple of share plates and mains and they were all delicious. I would recommend a visit.

BEST PIZZA EVER! Look, we all have had amazing pizzas in our lives, but these were seriously mind-blowing. We ordered Peronis and three pizzas to share which was plenty for the three of us to be full. We would have loved to keep eating though!
