What people say
Unfortunately, our experience echoed many of the other reviews here about Sean’s. My partner and I had high hopes, but we were ultimately let down by the food, particularly given the price of the set menu. The restaurant itself is lovely, with a great interior and atmosphere. The service was also excellent—staff were attentive, welcoming, and genuinely fun to interact with, which helped make the evening enjoyable. However, the food was the biggest disappointment. The entrées were average at best and lacked the “something special” you would expect from a restaurant of this calibre. The mains were fine, with the snapper being a standout, but overall they still didn’t justify the price point. Desserts were particularly underwhelming and felt more like simple home-style dishes than a restaurant finale. Walking away unsatisfied after spending that amount was disappointing. While the service and setting were strong, the food didn’t deliver. Unfortunately, it’s a one-and-done for us at Sean’s.
Sean’s was great! We’d seen a few mixed reviews about the food and service, but everything was excellent. Definitely make a reservation, we saw a couple turned away because it was so busy. The service was attentive, and the food was fantastic. The only small miss was that they forgot the roe on our potato cake, but honestly, we didn’t even notice until afterward because everything else was so good. Highly recommend!
Great Experience, Sydney Institution, Had a wonderful dinner to celebrate special occasion. Staff very polished, feel the love coming from Sean's Kitchen making you feel like you're at his home enjoying a wholesome meal. Love the Beach Culture Decor and how it adds to experience. Can't believe its been so long since last visit.
We had lunch there. We were given the best seats with a view of the ocean. The meal was set course only, consisting of an appetizer, main course, and dessert. It was $140 per person. We could choose from three options for each. The sautéed fish and steamed clams with chili sauce were delicious. The staff were very friendly, and the interior of the restaurant was lovely.
A cozy yet busy restaurant overlooking Bondi Beach. Food is rustic with sizable portions. Hearty but nothing great to write home about. Nevertheless, a nice restaurant when one is out by Bondi Beach.
