Rusty's Bar Coogee

I’ve recently returned home to Ireland after a trip to Sydney, and I just had to leave a review for Rusty's Bar. If you’re looking for a brilliant Irish bar experience abroad, this is the place. Drinks: An excellent selection behind the bar. I never thought I’d see the day I’d happily put down a pint of Coors for a Stone & Wood, but here we are! Great variety and quality all round. Food: A lovely menu with plenty of comfort food from home. The Chicken Stacks are an absolute must – highly recommend giving them a try. Staff: Nothing but positive words to say about the entire team – from the bar staff and floor staff to the kitchen and management. There’s clearly a really positive working environment, and it shows. Everyone looked genuinely happy and seemed to enjoy their job, which makes such a difference to the atmosphere. Entertainment: I couldn’t get over the music selection – there was never a dull night. If you’re around midweek, Wednesday night Trivia is brilliant for catching up with friends. Great fun and plenty of laughs guaranteed. Overall, I would highly recommend this establishment. Hopefully one day I’ll make it back and be able to pop in and say hello again. Sláinte! 🍻

My parents visited from Ireland Aidan and the crew took exceptionally good care of us all. The service was great and as always there was such a good atmosphere. This pub was one of my parents favourite places in Sydney as unlike some of the other Irish pubs Rustys is “a piece of Ireland on Australian beaches”. Not to mention the portion sizes were massive!! We all ate and loved our food👏🏼👏🏼

We had a joint engagement party here with 18 people and everything was excellent. The share platters were delicious and incredibly generous in size. The service was warm and friendly, and the live music was amazing—it had us all up dancing! It was such a fantastic night. Thank you to Rusty’s team for making it so special.

We had our Christmas party here last week. Venue, food, bar staff, music and owners were fantastic. Very helpful, kind and checked in on us throughout the night. Couldn’t have asked for a better night. Thank you to all at Rusty’s.

Absolutely loved our time at this Irish bar! The atmosphere was warm, lively, and full of character, but what really made the experience special was the incredible staff. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming from the moment we walked in — you could tell they truly care about their guests. The drinks were spot on too – perfectly poured, great selection, and exactly what you want for a relaxed night out or a fun catch-up with friends. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to stay for “just one more” (or two!). Highly recommend for anyone looking for great vibes, amazing service, and quality drinks. We’ll definitely be back! 🍀🍻
