Coogee Wine Room - Restaurant & Bar

Coogee Wine Room has an impressive wine list, as the name would imply. The staff are knowledgeable about wine, which helps, and the pricing is quite reasonable and realistic, no $40k bottles like at Mimi's down the road. The food is great but by no means Michelin Star, more steak fritte than molecular gastronomy. We've been here a few times, for dinner and Sunday afternoon drinks, and enjoyed ourselves always. The atmosphere is pleasant, and a conversation could be held easily, unlike Una Mas down the road. Its a popular place, so on weekends a booking is a good idea, although last year our party of 4 turned up on a Saturday night and they found us a table. It can be a bit rustic, for that amount of money, a tablecloth would be good, but high end glassware is used. Its an uber trip as parking on Coogee Bay Road is rarely, if ever available, and you wouldn't want to drive after the excellent wine. I will definitely go there again

My wife and I enjoyed a weekend dinner at the CWR. Both of our mains were outstanding (pasta dish and lamb) and the desert we had was phenomenal (apple tarte Tatin). The venue has an excellent wine selection and the service was friendly and professional. All up an excellent dining experience.

A gem in Coogee! We have been frequent guests at Coogee Wine Room. The food is always consistently wonderful, the wine list is extensive (as you'd expect from a wine bar!), the service is friendly and efficient and all the staff are so welcoming. We have been to CWR many times as a couple, a family, with friends... but yesterday we hosted a lunch for my birthday with 36 of our nearest and dearest. We had the function space upstairs which was the perfect. From our initial enquiry to the various discussions we had about menu, wines, table setup and decoration, music and use of a microphone to the day itself I could not be more appreciative of the help of Yuliya the event manager, Marie the manager and all of their staff. Guests with special menu requests were accommodated (they all said their meals were delicious) as did everyone who ate the menu we requested. The function space was perfect - including a quieter area for older people. Absolutely brilliant, thank you so much! James

I had dinner at Coogee Wine Room with friends. We booked for six people, and it was our first time there. We didn’t realise that groups are required to order the banquet menu, but the staff were very accommodating and kindly offered to adjust some dishes we didn’t like. The food was absolutely delicious and high quality, the staff were friendly and welcoming, and the wine selection left a great impression. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and overall it was well worth the price. We had a wonderful experience and will definitely be back again.

Today we booking banquet for 6 people. Food was so full and so yummy. Service great. Everything absolutely great. We will back again.
