Pontoon Bar is a pub in Sydney. It hasn't yet been confirmed as dog-friendly, so it's best to check with the venue before visiting.
Have been a semi-casual goer of the Pontoon Bar for a few years now and have always had a blast of a time with great food, solid music, and top vibe. Staff have always been friendly and nights thoroughly enjoyed. Was extremely disappointed to find on Saturday night over the last weekend however, that security would not let myself and 4 sober mates into the venue as "The licencee isn't letting big groups of males in". Seriously? 4 mature young blokes, completely sober, willingly providing ID, behaving respectfully, and just looking for a place to have a dance and a bit of fun on a Saturday night of Vivid. Adding insult to injury, when calmly questioned if a big group of girls lined up would they be let in? we were told they most likely would. What a joke! I'm not one to carry on with sexism and all but you can't tell me this isn't! Very disappointing Pontoon, very disappointing. Ended up heading to Bungalow 8 and had a great night there instead. Not sure I'll be back to Pontoon if they wanna keep this bull crap up.
We celebrated my 50th birthday at The Pontoon Bar with 60 guests, and it was absolutely perfect. Robert and the team went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. The food was plentiful and delicious, and all of our guests had nothing but great things to say. The atmosphere was incredible — easily one of the best backdrops you could ask for — and the music was spot on from 7pm right through to 2am. We truly had an amazing night from start to finish. Thank you for making it such a memorable celebration. Highly recommend! Kind regards Andrew Portolesi
11/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND . We were greeted and seated almost immediately after walking in. Ordered via the QR code, our drinks took less then 5 minutes to arrive and even better food was out within 15 minutes of ordering. The food was incredible. The staff are super friendly and accommodating.
Got Loaded fries. Had to eat them with a knife and fork. Atmosphere was good. Location good. Food reasonably priced. Negative is lining up for 10 minutes to order one drink. Some staff a bit sassy.
Had the Jackos Chicken Burger which was pretty good and not expensive considering where the restaurant is located ($24). Seating area could have been cleaner and service was pretty poor not sure why the girl with glasses, nose piercing and a neck tat got annoyed at us when we asked for a gravy that we didnt get. Not all the staff had bad service as we were orginally served by a gentleman who had an energetic nature and seemed like he enjoyed working there, not like that girl though
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
