IKI Dining - Ramen and Izakaya is a pub in Potts Point with outdoor seating. It hasn't yet been confirmed as dog-friendly, so it's best to check with the venue before visiting.
Walked past Iki Dining in Potts Point and was instantly drawn in by the neon vibe and pink signage—such a cool, chill spot (about a 5-minute walk from Kings Cross station, though parking is tricky). The Sashimi Platter🍣is an absolute must-order: thick cuts and incredibly fresh—salmon, tuna, oysters, scallops, kingfish, plus a generous pop of roe. We also loved the Umami Chilli Lobster🦞—the lobster was huge and super fresh, and I really appreciated that the shell was already separated, making it so easy to enjoy. For dessert, the Mochi Parfait (warabi mochi with kuromitsu syrup and black sesame ice cream) was perfectly chewy and comforting, and the Sweet Potato Brûlée had a satisfying crackly caramel top with a smooth, not-too-sweet filling. 🥂Great drink list too—sake, cocktails, mocktails, highballs—and the oolong tea cocktail was a standout. Highly recommend!
Went to IKI Dining last night with my family and we all really enjoyed it. I really like the design and concept of the place — the bar area, outdoor seating, and then walking upstairs for more dining options. It has a nice private vibe without feeling too formal. The Juicy Gyoza were amazing, and we also tried the Crispy Aged Duck and 200g Wagyu Steak which were both delicious. For ramen, we had Yomo’s Chintan Ramen (clear chicken broth with pork, chicken and soft egg) and the Niboshi Ramen (dashi and bonito broth with crispy cod). The broth isn’t like your usual heavy soup base — it’s a clear style, cooked Chintan-style over 48 hours with no MSG. You can really taste the depth and balance. Finished with the Sweet Potato Brûlée which was such a good ending to the night. Great vibe, great food — definitely recommend giving it a try.
Be curious and you will be rewarded. Highly recommend this new local gem. The calibre of the food is top tier with casual flare. From the ingredients and pairing, it’s clear that a lot of thought and consideration has been put into each dish. Chef basically went omakase style and each dish hit the mark. Oysters were super fresh and creamy. The accompanying ponzu jelly was well balanced. The king fish was served minimalist but the flavour and ingredient pairing was anything but basic - finger lime, spice, lime, fish salt. Banging! The cucumber octopus was yum. Tender morsels tossed together with a sesame based dressing. I hadn’t planned to get ramen but glad chef steered that way. The crab bisque ramen far outshines Mensho. The prawns and crab was flash fried in oil, coming out juicy and fragrant. Egg was good. Noodles and bisque 10/10 yum. The same selection is decent. Som is ex-Sokyo so knows his stuff. Will coming here cost a pretty penny? Probably, but what doesn’t these days. May as well make it worth it. Will be back very soon for more!
Ordered the Oysters with Lemon and Chill Ponzu sauce; very fresh and had the perfect umami taste. Also had the Niboshi Ramen, a clear broth with rocket salad, crispy cod fillet and a half boiled egg. If you are looking for a ramen place where the broth is less rich and salty, then this is the palace to be.
We came here recently in small group and we were very happy with our dining experience. Here are some of the highlights: - We made a booking before coming here and I do recommend that. - They have outdoor and indoor dining areas. The restaurant is pretty ecletic in its decor and works out well. Tables were well spaced in the back dining area. - They have lunch specials and pretty good value for the quality of food. Loved the ramen for the clear broth and there is still depth to it. The poke bowl was pretty nice but for anyone who cannot take spice is best to avoid it. The gyoza is good too. - The staff were professional, polite and accommodating. It is full table service too. I can't wait to go back again and I recommend this place.
