Wolli Creek Regional Park

Dogs welcome — rules apply•Dog rules

Updated 29 Apr 2026

Wolli Creek Regional Park is a dog-friendly park in Earlwood. Just 550m away, Earlwood Hotel is a great nearby spot to relax with your dog after a walk.

Dog rules

–Canterbury-Bankstown City Council's "Pet-friendly parks and reserves" page states: "please remember to keep your dog on a leash unless the reserve is classified as a 'dog off-leash area'." The council's "Animals and pets" page summarises this as: "Keeping your dog on a leash, unless in a designated off-leash area." This venue is not on Canterbury-Bankstown's published off-leash list, so the council's general on-leash rule applies under the NSW Companion Animals Act 1998. Lovely scenic trail where you'll see plenty of wildlife such as bats. Even a swimming spot along the way suitable for dogs.

If you're in the mood for adventure and a bit of a challenge, this walking trail is the perfect escape. Surrounded by lush greenery and vibrant vegetation, it offers a refreshing experience for nature enthusiasts. However, it's important to note that this trail may not be suitable for everyone. Those with mobility issues or parents with young children in strollers may find the journey daunting. This park is a vital part of the remarkable walking route that stretches from Turella to Earlwood, featuring an array of changing terrains that add to the thrill of the trek. Be prepared with sturdy footwear, as the path can be uneven, winding up and down stony pathways that require careful navigation. Don’t forget to bring your furry friend along—dogs are welcome on this hiking trail, making it a fantastic opportunity for a day of exploration in nature together!

Whether you paddle or walk, the park is a great place to get outside. You can walk the creek from near the velodrome at the junction with Cooks River, right down to Girrawheen Park in Earlwood. Both ends are an easy walk from train stations. There are bats and birds to see as well as caves in the rocks.
