Dog rules

–Canterbury-Bankstown City Council's "Pet-friendly parks and reserves" page states: "please remember to keep your dog on a leash unless the reserve is classified as a 'dog off-leash area'." The council's "Animals and pets" page summarises this as: "Keeping your dog on a leash, unless in a designated off-leash area." This venue is not on Canterbury-Bankstown's published off-leash list, so the council's general on-leash rule applies under the NSW Companion Animals Act 1998. Situated discreetly between the Wolli Creek walking track and Girrahween Park in Earlwood lies a hidden nature lookout that offers a breathtaking perspective of the surrounding area. Perched atop a striking rock formation, this lookout provides stunning panoramic views of the neighboring suburbs of Turrella and Wolli Creek, as well as glimpses of the Sydney skyline in the distance. Reaching the summit is an invigorating experience, though it can be quite demanding, particularly for those with mobility challenges, families with young children, or anyone using a stroller. The journey involves navigating lush, verdant walkways and climbing over rugged stones and boulders, making sturdy hiking shoes essential for a safe and enjoyable ascent. Once you reach the top, the landscape opens up to reveal a spacious, flat area perfect for relaxation and exploration. Numerous scenic spots await, ideal for capturing memorable photographs against the backdrop of nature’s beauty. Access to this serene location is conveniently available via the Turella track, inviting you to discover its charm.

A description of the view in 1874 (when you could still see Botany Bay): "At the top of the hill a very lovely view appeared far away beyond. The hill sloped steeply down to Arncliffe which looked very pretty. And then the land stretched away in half wooded plain until in the distance you had a perfect view of Botany Bay which was as blue as it could be and the heads stood out so clear against the great blue Pacific. Oh it was very lovely!"

Steep climb, surface can be loose but very achievable if you are caution and quite a nice view from the top.
