Tunks Park is a large, open reserve on the waterfront in Cammeray, benefiting from North Sydney Council's area-wide off-leash policy (dogs off-leash in all council parks except bushland, playing fields during organised sport, and designated exclusion zones). The park is spacious with good tree cover and waterfront access, and connects to walking tracks with creek crossings that lead up towards Artarmon. It's a popular morning and afternoon spot for local dog owners.

Dog rules

North Sydney is a dog-friendly area and all Council parks and public reserves are off-leash areas, except for bushland areas, playing fields when organised sporting events are in progress, and venues where dogs are not allowed. Dogs must be under effective control at all times. (Source: North Sydney Council — northsydney.nsw.gov.au)

The fields were quite damp after an extensive period of persistent precipitation. And, then the lower of the two creek crossings on the walk up to Artarmon had submerged stepping stones. Spectacular view of the suspension bridge. Dog friendly.

Gorgeous spot for families to recreate in. Great for a run with the dogs or a kick around with the kids. Access to the water and children’s play areas. It is also the kicking off point for a number of other hiking and trail running paths. Absolutely perfect.

This is a great park for both kids and dogs with plenty of room for expansive outdoor play. Great open areas for running dogs off leash. Also beautiful waterfront access and children's play areas. It's crowded on weekends with kids sports and this can make parking close by difficult. Don't park in the boat trailer spots close to the water as the Rangers frequently patrol through. Very picturesque with cliffs on both sides all the way through to the walking trails up to Flat Rock. A few beautiful walks start at the end of this park The sports fields are well maintained and there are well serviced public toilets close by.

A very well kept and maintained turf cricket field. Enough shade for both players and spectators. Public toilets close by. Parking can be minimal from time to time especially during good weather as this oval is near a boat ramp.

Such large and flat lawn to walk, run, play sports and laidback. We enjoyed a Sunday afternoon together.
