Wendy Whiteley's Secret Garden is a magical, lovingly planted garden at Lavender Bay, tumbling down to the harbour's edge. Dogs are welcome off-leash in the designated area under effective control, with shade among the greenery. It is a peaceful, special place for a gentle wander. A charming off-leash garden by the harbour.
Off-leash (default). Check signage on site.
This garden is very well maintained, with many seating areas. It is clearly well loved by both locals and tourists. Whenever you need a place to unwind and relax, visit this garden and enjoy a nice, cool breeze, beautiful tree shade, and a lovely view. To Ms. Whiteley, the gardeners, and all the volunteers, Thank you for keeping the garden as beautiful as it is for everyone.
A lovely place to wander, with some seats scattered amogst the garden and are nice to come across. A great place to sit and look out at the harbour or catch a glorious sunset. I only wish I had brought a book! I do recommend closed shoes and heads up - expect to see some brushturkeys (they keep to themselves, but this is a heads up in case the scratching or shaking of leaves startle you 😅.)
A hidden landcapped garden, plenty of seating unfortunately the trees have overgrown which obsecure the harbour views, there is plenty of stairs so make sure your knee's are good.
This is an other worldly experience, it holds the meaning of beauty, it feels intimate while having a depth and complexity to it. It is mythically quirky, with its range of seating options and decorative well placed garden pieces. Just gorgeous, you absolutely must go here :)
Lovely hidden garden. I love the community feel. Lots of cosy sitting places to get away from the city. Scenic views of the harbour.
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
