Dogs are not permitted on Manly Beach at any time. This is a patrolled surf beach (Manly Ocean Beach, North Steyne to South Steyne). NSW companion animal rules prohibit dogs on patrolled surf beaches; Northern Beaches Council does not list this beach as an off-leash or on-leash dog area. Verified against council source 2026-05-16.

Manly beach seems quieter than Bondi. There's quite a number of people around and there's plenty of shops and restaurants too. Here, people like to sit down and enjoy the view.

A short but very scenic ferry ride from Circular Key. You can you use the tap feature on your credit card to tap on and off the ferry. It is a nice walk from the ferry to the beach on a pedestrian street lined with various beach town shops and eateries. The beach is nice although I preferred Bondi.
