Yummy food and great service! Came in 30mins before closing and we were still welcomed with a friendly smile and prompt seating and service. Had the calamari and chicken to share and it was great! Atmosphere inside is also homey and eccentric, making for a nice dining experience.
Went looking for a classic fish and chip shop and came across this place on Google. Was a bit surprised to find out it’s also a Japanese fusion restaurant, so I wasn’t too sure what to expect at first. Decided to give it a go anyway and ordered from the menu… and honestly, the food was amazing. We had the teriyaki steak, grilled salmon, sashimi, and a kids chicken nuggets and chips. Everything was fresh, full of flavour, and way better than expected. The chips in particular were phenomenal. Would definitely come back next time I’m in the area. Just a heads up, it gets really busy, we were lucky to get a seat, so I’d recommend making a booking.
This is such a hidden gem! The staff were all so friendly, and every dish we ordered was delicious, they also highlight some great local winemakers and brewers :) We came here two nights in a row, we loved it so much and the owner is so lovely! Will definitely be back again on our next trip here.
Quite disappointing. Advertised as being enough for 2-3 people. Was probably good for 1 person or two if you’re not that hungry. The crab claws were not real crab but reconstituted flake or something like that. The chips were not cooked well, not crunchy. Just wasn’t worth the $60 charged. Not a lot of salad so we had to shell out for extra salad. The only plus was the dressing on the salad was nice. Answering your response (which you have now apparently removed) I will now point out all the lies in your response. First you said that my wife made your staff uncomfortable and made us out to be very aggressive. Nothing could be further from the truth. We were told that the meal would take 40 minutes to an hour and we weren't sure that we could wait that long because we were so hungry. However my wife paid for the meal and just said that she would discuss it with me and determine if we wished to wait that long for the meal. She was in no way rude or unpleasant about it. You've simply made that up to deflect about the quality of the food. Then you delivered the meal within a much shorter period of time, which was good. But the meal itself was not that great. You also stated that we took a picture of the meal after removing several items. The picture was taken before we started eating so don't lie about that as well. The picture clearly shows the whole meal - 4 prawns, 4 oysters, 3 small pieces of fish, 4 crab claws (the same kind of "crab" used in crab sticks sold at a fish and chip shop. I'm not sure how much crab is in that) and 4 pieces of calamari cooked without crumb - fairly bland, chips and salad. The oysters, prawns and fish were fine as far as flavour. The chips were not well cooked - there was no crispy outer coating. However the whole dish was not worth the price of $60.00, it just wasn't. So rather than deflect from the actual issue, the food, why not respond to my criticism of the food itself. I've posted many reviews and never had a response from a vendor like the one I just received. It is very unprofessional and actually rather childish.
Had an amazing two dinners overd last three days with family and large table fitting all 13 of us. The specials teriyaki mackerel fish was loved by all. Even during a busy night food and drinks prompt and love having Sapporo on tap. Korean Chicken was a hit as was the Grilled Salomon Sushi 🍣.
