Mackillop Drive Reserve is a dog-friendly park in Castle Hill with plenty of shade.
Under the Companion Animals Act 1998, dogs must be on-leash at all times in all parks and public places. Dogs are prohibited within 10 metres of children's playground equipment and food preparation areas, from active sports fields during organised sport, public bathing areas, school grounds, and child care centres. Dog faeces must be removed immediately. (Source: The Hills Shire Council — Stay out of the Doghouse, thehills.nsw.gov.au.)
Absolutely charming reserve
A good place to go for a vigorous walk or kids to play
Great, wide open park with three connected playground areas. Paths go off in several directions, close carpark, walk over creek that has some ducks. Open grassed area for sports, etc., plus many covered picnic tables and bbqs. Looking forward to a repeat visit!
Great place to bring kids due to play area and also a rest room. Small get togethers and birthday parties can be planned as well.
A wonderful reserve and park for playing, picnics, parties, relaxing. There are a few different areas separated by plants and hedges. This means each section feels quite private. The day I was there, there was a large variety of native wildlife to be seen.
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
