Not Bread Alone Restaurant & Cafe is a cafe in Crows Nest with an outdoor area. Dog access isn't confirmed, but venues with an outdoor area are often dog friendly, so it may be worth checking. Just 150m away, Hume Street Park is a great nearby park for a walk with your dog.
Worst services ever. The old lady (maybe the owner?) was very rude. Very impatient to take my order though the cafe was not busy at that time. When I reconfirmed my order to avoid possible misunderstanding, she bluntly stopped me showing an unhappy face. When I paid and showed the Entertainment coupon, she look at me with an disdainful glaze then asked me to calculate the discount myself. :O I was a bit shock and anyway told her I had no problem doing so. She then responded in a satirical tone saying she was sure that I must be good at it. I thought nobody used a gun pointing on your head to participate the promotion. There is no need to embarrass the customer. I was there before and had a bad experience. Just want to give them another chance but now can confirm not to be there again even with a gun pointing on my head.
Came here on a Sunday morning and ordered a savoury muffin. It arrived cold to the touch and I’ve asked the waitress for it to be heated. She proceeded to bring it back and the elder lady (making coffees) overheard and basically exploded at her and said that it cannot be heated up. She then came over to the table and said it was made fresh in the morning and insisted that it cannot be heated up as it would affect the quality. I reiterated that it’s cold and she basically said ‘like I’ve told you we can’t heat it up’. Her tone was condescending and her lack of basic customer service, respect to her own staff was appalling. Ruined the experience and my Sunday morning. Will never return!
This is a lovely little gem. Unassuming and tucked away just off the main road. We had a wonderful breakfast at Not Bread Alone. The staff were friendly and the food was delicious. We really enjoyed the apple and rhubarb crumble. The coffee and chai latte were great too! I’d highly recommend this cafe to anyone looking for a cafe to call their local.
Wonderful experience our second time dinning here & will not be the last. The ice mocha is amazing. The hospitality and friendly staff as well as cozy atmosphere is beautiful, indoor and sheltered outdoor dining area, kept clean and maintained. The owners signature handcrafted roasted coffee is definitely a must try equally their desserts, inspired by Bill Grangers recipe, the owner was able to get permission to use his recipes before his passing. Exclusive specials, fresh and overall a relaxing experience we had. A cafe that cares about their work, customers & chefs.
Situated in an excellent location in Crows Nest, this café offers a commendable variety of food and beverage selections. The ambiance is truly delightful, and I found myself returning for the inviting atmosphere during my second visit. While the food was enjoyable, as a food enthusiast and hospitality professional, I believe there is potential for enhancement. I would recommend considering the addition of side dishes, such as salads or fresh fruit cuts, which could complement the main offerings without significantly altering the overall dietary composition. The service provided was warm and genuine, and I hope my suggestions are taken into account. I look forward to experiencing any improvements during my next visit. Until then!
