A beautiful duo of parks (one for smaller kids and one for everyone) and I encourage you to wander down and read the about the man the park is named for: Douglas Green. 🍭 There are two sections of park. One is a small green structure (2nd picture) with a slide and a see-saw. The second is what's kids call a 'rocket ship' and although it's fun for larger kids, it's also suitable for smaller ones, as there is netting for them to climb on. One small baby swing and a fun little climbing holds on grey hexagons (dodecahedrons? I didn't count the sides 😂) 📖 If you're visiting, I'd love you to read about the park's namesake: Douglas Grant. He was an Aboriginal infant taken from Northern Queensland and raised by a Scottish family. He served in WWI and despite his excellence in service, faced discrimination his entire life. As an adult, he was a wool classer, taxidermist, bagpipe player and caretaker at Callan Park Mental Asylum. Douglas designed and built the Harbour Bridge Memorial at Callan Park. Have a look for it on Maps, it's next to the Waterfront Drive Sporting Grounds. 💦 Two bubblers, one on either end of the park. ☕ The closest cafe is Fes and Co, simply take the walkway across the canal to Badu Park. 🚻 No public toilets close by that I know of.
It's a funny little strip that goes along beside the canal. No kids around, have a climb up the rocket and slide down :-) there is a nice basketball hoop and a few other structural type gadgets kids like.
Small out of the way. Has some basketball across the canal. Stuff for tiny tots. The slide is super narrow though, so parents, don't expect to be comfortable go down with your tiny ones unless you slim down !
This was a fun park to happen upon whilst out on a walk. One swing for tots, great spider web climbing apparatus for older children. Has a slide and rocking equipment too. Maintained by the Inner West Council. Johnson Creek borders the playground and it has ecological gardens for controlling water flow through the area - acting as water filter for the rain run off. Good fences and easy to push a carriage.
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
