War Memorial Park has a large, old tree right in the centre that anchors the whole space and provides serious shade. The southern area is off-leash at all times, while the northern section and anywhere within 10 metres of the playground is on-leash. The park has distinct sections — quieter corners for dogs that want space, and more open areas for chasing and socialising. BBQs, toilets, and parking are all nearby.

Dog rules

The southern area of War Memorial Park is off-leash at all times. Dogs must be on a leash in the northern area and within 10 metres of the children's playground.

Brilliant park for parties and birthdays. The trees covered the playground in shade throughout the whole day and it was extremely cool compared to the 34deg in the sun. A few flies due to the recent wet weather so make sure to bring coverings for the food. Shame the water play area isn't also covered in shade. Overall, if your planning to have a summer party I definitely would suggest this park.

A nice open space to enjoy walking, running and in my case taking photos of beautiful pups. There are different sections of the park which allow you to take yourself off to quiet areas or more lively parts if you are attending the activities that are sometimes held there. Plenty of parking is available. We tend to keep dogs on lead throughout photo sessions to avoid distractions, but there are spaces to have your dog off lead.

Pleasant open green space with medium-sized playground, toilets and bubbler. No BBQ facilities. The playground is larger than the average neighbourhood playground and has a lovely wooden rocketship along with 3 other pieces of equipment and swings. The playground is shaded under trees. No immediately adjacent cafes.

Definitely check this park out. It's got a massive, old tree right in the centre that is simply delightful. It's got a playground and an off-leash dog area too. If you don't mind being approached by doggos, it would be a great spot for a picnic.

Lovely park for families, kids, dogs and everything else that brings people together. We spent a lovely afternoon here under enormous trees.
