In the Blue Mountains, dogs must be on a leash in all public areas unless in a specifically designated off-leash zone. This venue is not on Blue Mountains City Council's off-leash areas list. (Source: Blue Mountains City Council — Dog off-leash areas, bmcc.nsw.gov.au/dogs.)
We drove from Penrith on the long weekend to a beautiful lakeside park—perfect for kayaking, BBQs, fishing, jogging, and play. The kids explored the playgrounds while we soaked in the calm waters and open sky. It’s within walking distance from the train station, but driving had its challenges: parking was tight. We ended up roadside about 100 meters away, as the main spots were full. Parking offered four-hour paid slots, but only if you waited for someone to leave. Still, the lake was worth the effort. A reminder to arrive early—or consider the train next time.
Perfect place for picnic and day out with Family!!! We enjoyed BBQ and Picnic and Fun with Family next to lake!
Beautiful place to walk while kids play in the play area. BBQ is available near to this place.
Beautiful spot to sit in the afternoon for a quiet time in the mountains even in winter, although gets cold as soon as the sun goes down. Looked like plenty for kids to do, and a couple having photos taken
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
