Went here for the first time today and absolutely loved it. Very trendy looking inside with a nice choice of outdoor seating as well. It’s a hidden gem tucked away in a laneway of Surry Hills. I had the vegetarian omelette and my wife had the super green bowl with grilled chicken. Both were very generous in size, extremely fresh and super tasty. Service as well was so friendly and they were very happy to accommodate some small menu changes. Will definitely go back here again !

Great food and vibes. I think the atmosphere can be a bit gloomy given the location which is unfortunate, but when the suns out, it holds its own. Some of the breads and pastries may have been a tad too toasted / tough. One big knock I have to give though … the knives. It’s a shame, makes the eating experience so much worse when the knives struggle to cut through anything and are more reminiscent of butter knives, having little-to-no serration. If there’s any change that I think could really bump this up; replacing those knives with ones that can actually cut through sourdough … or at least make a more solid attempt that is.

Wow! The food here tastes just as good as it looks. We had the chilli French toast and the omelet with some coffees. Perfect start to our day❤️

Front up, the only reason why I scored the atmosphere down to a 4 was because dance clubbing type tracks at 6am are not to my tastes, but if it is, then consider it a 5-star. You can always tell how good a place is by the customers that interact. The barista knew the regulars and their preferred drinks from memory, knew table seating without numbers, and had a smile on his face the entire time. The kitchen staff you can see through the glass, also with a smile and a wave. I dropped in just before 6:30am, and ordered their big breakfast and a pot of Earl Grey tea. Price wise, its a bit more for the big breakfast by comparison to other places, and while the portion size is somewhat comparable, the quality was well worth the price. Small niggle, but to me, an egg tornado is not scrambled eggs, but its semantics at the end of the day I guess. Lurpak butter, sourdough, two thick small hash brown triangles, a rasher of bacon cooked with both a soft end and a crispy tail, cooked spinach, a portion of mushrooms, half a chorizo, and some tomato. Everything was well cooked, and fresh. You could taste the freshness and the quality. A stark contrast to the feeling I got from another place I reviewed recently, even if theirs was cooked fresh, it didn't feel fresh, if that makes sense. The addition of the chorizo with its smokey flavour was really a compliment in general. The garnish and seasoned (peppered!) egg tornado was also something that you don't often see, as many places tend to let you season yourself, so it added an element and feel of professionalism to the cookery (I tend to add pepper to my scrambled eggs!) that I didn't expect, and you could taste it. The time from order to table was just under 20min, the tea was relatively quick, and the modern glassware was nice as you could see how much was in the pot. A solid 3-cup pot, though what stole my heart however was the milk can, very cute indeed. Overall, a lovely place, I can understand why some of their tables are reserved at that time of the morning, and I can also understand why they have higher prices, the result I think is worthwhile, at least, to me.

I breakfasted twice at the Sticky Fingers café during my recent stay in Surry Hills, and would happily go again. Both the sticky egg roll and the chorizo scramble were yummy and filling, while my flat whites were tasty, hot and artistically presented. Service was cheerful and efficient. I enjoyed sitting outside, though inside looked pretty good too. Definitely on my list of cafés to revisit.
