James Ruse Reserve is a well-regarded dog-friendly park in Parramatta where dogs are welcome on lead. You'll find shaded areas, drinking water, BBQs, parking, and toilets nearby, while Circa Espresso is around 650 metres away for an easy post-walk coffee.
Dogs are permitted on-leash under the NSW Companion Animals Act. Dogs must be under effective control at all times. Dogs prohibited within 10m of playgrounds and play equipment. Check on-site signage for any additional restrictions.
Great water play area for the kids, plus plenty of seating and shade but the rest of the area seemed to be under construction though
A full of fun water park within a proximity of many Sydney suburbs. The playground has a good variety of water plays. Some "dry" plays are also available (slide, swing & climbing ropes). The car park is limited and for a ticket Mon to Friday. The reserve has portable toilets which aren't popular for its cleanliness. Have fun.
Lovely park with gorgeous water play area. Good afternoon shade and lots of grass areas. A well built skate area tops off this nice park. Lack of good toilets let this park down and limited off street parking make it a little difficult to access. Walking distance from many flats and apartments servicing the Parramatta area.
This place is fantastic for a family day out. The huge play area keeps kids entertained, and the water play section is a major draw, especially in the warmer months. You can easily enjoy a picnic with loved ones while the little ones are happily occupied.
We used to come here sometimes before COVID... we've moved to a different area since, but thought we'd have a look with such a hot day. Weren't we relieved to see it wasn't as packed as some places! Our girls had a great time.🙂
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
