Lovely walk with cool breeze flowing through the river passage. Beautiful trail, greenery and friendly people. Pet friendly walk, can do BBQ near the walk in seated bench , shisha's are also entertained as I saw.
It’s very much a city walk with nice views and plenty of bubblers along the river, which is great on a hot day. However, some areas — especially around the university — have a strong sewage-like stench that can be quite nauseating. It was so bad at one point that I felt dizzy and unwell, and had to turn back
Wonderful place for walk, jog, run and cycling. Beautiful scenery and pleasant weather to spend quality time with family, friends and even for exercising. Just walk to Paramatta Quay and get onto a boat / cruise to go to Circular Quay to see Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge
The Parramatta River Walk is a beautiful and scenic trail, perfect for those who enjoy outdoor activities like walking, jogging, running, or cycling. The path winds along the river, offering a peaceful escape from the city's hustle. Along the way, you might spot some wildlife, including domestic ducks, waterbirds like the Eurasian Coots, goose, and even the occasional lizard basking in the sun. On our walk, we spotted Common Mynas, Noisy Miners, Laughing Kookaburras, Eurasian Coots, Maned Ducks (Australian Wood Duck) and Australian Ibises among others. Some visitors are doing leisure fishing there as well. The view of the river, especially near the bridge, is particularly romantic, with the Commbank Colosseum in the background adding a modern touch to the natural scenery. It’s a great spot for a quiet stroll or a sunset walk with a loved one. However, it’s worth noting that some areas are occupied by homeless people, which can be a bit unsettling for some visitors. Despite this, the walk remains a lovely and accessible place to enjoy nature in the heart of Parramatta.
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
