What people say
Dunlop reserve is a small park with a small playground located near the Birkenhead point brand outlets Drummoyne and a number of marina's. There is a small beach as well. Surprisingly I saw 👀 a lot of fish 🐟Dunlop Reserve is a hidden gem tucked right behind the Birkenhead Point Brand Outlet in Drummoyne. While many shoppers stick to the indoor "Lighthouse" play area, the reserve offers a much-needed breath of fresh air and some of the best waterfront views in the Inner West. The Atmosphere & Vibe If you’ve just spent three hours navigating the crowds at the outlet centre, Dunlop Reserve is the perfect "reset" button. It’s a quiet, scenic strip of green that overlooks the Birkenhead Point Marina and the Parramatta River. You get a front-row seat to the yachts and the Iron Cove Bridge, making it a popular spot for a post-shopping coffee or a quick picnic. Key Features The "Secret" Beach: To the left of the main grassy area, there’s a small sandy shoreline. While not a swimming beach, it’s a great spot for kids to build sandcastles or for you to sit and watch the tide. Walkability: The reserve is part of the broader waterfront walking paths in Drummoyne. It’s very flat and paved, making it easy for strollers or wheelchairs. Seating: There are several park benches scattered along the water’s edge. If you can snag one, it’s a top-tier reading spot. Important Update: The Playground It is important to note for parents that the original fenced playground at Dunlop Reserve has been removed as part of a council upgrade to create more "passive" green space. Where to go instead: If you have kids who need to burn energy, head about 200 meters further along the water to Salton Reserve. It has a newer, nautical-themed playground (a big climbing boat) and similar stunning views. The Verdict
Yet another secret spot of the harbour to sit back and relax. It has a children’s playground which is fenced off, close to amenity and shops (Birkenhead Point Shopping Centre).
Lovely small park with views of the harbour, Cockatoo Island, Snapper Island and spectacle Island. Pleasant walk to the park from the ferry at Drummoyne.
Beautiful scenery and peaceful place to hang around with family and friends. .... loved the water!
