This is a world class Surfing reserve. A perfect right hand point break, more suited towards experienced surfers. Always respect the locals, and you should be okay. The car park is small but free and there are some shops around in close proximity. The surf club has toilets on the southern side of the headland. The view from this point looking north is spectacular.
Lovely park with plenty of green space overlooking the beach. There isn’t much shade, just a couple of big trees so good idea to bring some sort of pop up shade or parasol. It’s a little less crowded that the beach and a really great spot for a picnic and family and friends to gather. Room to fly kites and for ball sports. Street parking available with no meter as well as car park near surf club. It does get pretty full on sunny warm days though.
Sandon point is beautiful but be warned if you walk down the footpath you're likely to get badly hurt or worse by racing bikes electric bikes or others. Avoid kids schooltime because they absolutely fly some must be doing close to 50k so please be careful 🧐
I've lived at Sandon point for over two decades and wouldn't want to live anywhere else , everything is here , Shopping centre, 5 mins away , The point cafe is friendly always welcoming and lovely slices and the Chicken Snittys best in town .
