Gaggin Park is a dog-friendly park in Suffolk Park with plenty of shade. Just 550m away, The Park Hotel Motel is a great nearby spot to relax with your dog after a walk.

Dog rules

Dogs are welcome on-leash. In this council park dogs must be kept on a lead and under effective control at all times, and droppings must be removed. Byron Shire is an explicit-model LGA: dogs must be on-lead everywhere except council-designated off-leash areas.

The location of this park is great because it's right next to the beach. There's a kid's castle and I guess it's cool for kids, but gets old pretty quickly. There's a nice picnic area, public bathrooms at a decent condition, a slack line, and two swings. The beach next to it is nit dog friendly :(

Despite it being rundown, this park provides a great backdrop for imaginative play for 3-8 year olds. For any child obsessed by fire engines, it’s bound to delight. Wheelchair accessible toilets nearby are convenient. Some additional shaded seating would be a big improvement and the fire engine would benefit from a repaint as it’s quite faded.

It’s basic but everything you need to keep the kids entertained for an hour. Great public toilets and the place is very quiet. A short walk through to the beach as well. Parking right out the front and picnic tables available. Great little spot.

Great little park. Bench seating, shade cloth but no shelter from rain near playground. Some sheltered picnic tables 30m from playground. Not for all abilities. Old bathroom and beach access. There are no pedestrian crossings, and street parking only. Fun little tip: grab lunch from Suffolk Park Bakery and have a picnic at the playground. Plenty of space

Lovely beach with a few shades that help to make the sun more bearable during the hottest hours. There is free parking what is also very convenient and uncommon in Byron Bay where you must pay for parking everywhere. There is no lifeguard service so you must be careful. Very quiet, not crowded at all and beautiful like the most. There are showers inside the park nearby.
