Tallow Beach Dog Exercise Area
Tallow Beach Dog Exercise Area is a long stretch of white sand near Byron Bay where dogs can run off-leash at any time. Off-leash access applies to the intertidal zone only, with dogs kept off the dunes, and the section south of Jarman Street is dog-prohibited. The gentle waves and open sand suit a proper run and a swim, with shore fishing spots along the way. A spacious, easygoing beach for dogs that enjoy room to roam.
Dog rules

What people say
Dog friendly, mainly big dogs. Definitely not suitable for reactive dogs. Beautiful sandy beach. Some parking too.
Perfect place to watch the sunrise with your dog! Long stretch of sand so even when there’s lots of people and their dogs, doesn’t feel crowded. Easy parking.
Off dog leash area, beautiful white sand beach, friendly locals, gentle waves for beginner surfers
Excellent idea to dedicated dog area. Dogs were so happy to roam and socialise. For adults - long stretches of walks and some good shore fishing spots.
