Most bizarre experience of my 50+ years of global coffee drinking!! Brought my own mug (10 ounces) , asked on ordering the available sizes & advised small, medium (8 ounces) and large (12 ounces). My quick calculation was to fill my mug to about 3/4. Called to collect & asked if this was right? The coffee & milk barely covered the bottom of the mug - about the volume of a double expresso. I thought it was a candid camera moment!! What ensued was a display of stupidity hard to verbally replicate. The arrogance of the staff was mind numbing …… & all over perhaps 10c worth of milk. It is normally my fav coffee in town. Not now. Sat 22/1/26 a.m.

This morning we tried Mr. Sister cafe. It was fine. Ordered banana bread, fruit toast and coffees - everything quite average/standard. I did detect a tiny artifact of tude. That’s ok, it was very popular with people coming and going frequently. The coffee was not to my taste- but that’s just me. Check out the display cabinet for treats.

Cool cafe in a great spot but not worth the hype! Brothers and sisters… their coffee tasted like mothers disappointment. The coffee was over extracted and super hot which meant bitter coffee and the milk was thin and too hot to go near for a day or so. Maybe because I got takeout it didn’t matter?? Consider checking dose or yield weight?? Learn to texture milk right?? Coming from 10+ years deep behind the bar in specialty coffee myself this doesn’t fly. Want good rep long term? Eye ball the back-end details like a hawk! Would go back for another crack as *hopefully* it was just a silly season bad day.

The coffee here was excellent — strong, well made, and enjoyable from the first sip. A great spot for a quick takeaway. ☕ The coffee was great, with a bold flavour and consistent quality. The takeaway cup looked decent. 😊 Staff were warm, welcoming, and great. My order was ready in under a minute, which is genuinely impressive. 🎨 The space is nicely decorated with a relaxed vibe. It also stocks some local produce, which adds a thoughtful touch to the experience. A great takeaway stop overall — I’d happily return whenever I’m in the area.

Today, I tried a café in Newcastle that scored 4.7 on Google. I only ordered a large mocha ($6) for takeaway. It was well-balanced and smooth, not too sweet, but I was a bit disappointed with the milk foam. It was slightly overheated, and the foam was thicker than usual. The atmosphere is so comfortable and relaxing that you could easily spend the entire day here, whether you’re working, reading, or just enjoying the peaceful vibe. The staff and baristas at the café are incredibly friendly and welcoming. They always greet you with a warm smile and are happy to help. And next time I will stay here to enjoy the latte art ♡ ♡ ♡
