Fly Point Park is a dog-friendly park in Nelson Bay with plenty of shade.
All Council reserves that are not off-lead or prohibited are dog on-lead areas. Dogs must be under the effective control of a competent person by means of an adequate chain or leash at all times. You are not permitted to walk more than 4 dogs at any one time. Dog owners must remove all dog faeces — fines of $275 apply. The best snorkling spot, with lots of fish, bream 1 meter long flathead and turtles, also note sea lice is a big problem here you will notice a super itch no sooner you hit the water, shame parking meters have been put in last year
Its a great spot to scuba and there is plenty of parking along the road with the park at the back if you want to picnic or relax after a dive. Plenty of shaded areas and only a minutes walk from dive point entry to the public amenities. Nice views across the bay too.
Really pretty place. Little bit dangerous in the water at the point due to rocks and fast moving currents. But keep close to shore and you'll be fine, or go to the beach side for a much gentler experience.
This is a Marine Sanctuary. Crystal water. You can feed bread to the fish and heaps of fish come for a nibble. Fishing is prohibited unless your one of the many dolphins in the bay.
Nice park for the kids to come play at. Plenty of seats for picnics and small get-togethers. There's a spot for fishing and great views to see
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
