Great place for beginners into snorkelling or scuba diving. I have only snorkel there, and it provides plenty of fish to see underwater. Each time I am in the area which is 3 hrs from home, I make time to have a dip and see some fish. The local public toilets and showers is handy. TIP: Go on a sunny day and try to get there early before the crowds get in.
A very easy place to see lots of fish from the shore in shallow water (also saw a dolphin close by). Need to be there at the right time though, a bit choppy when we went. The adjacent beach is also nice and if you swim out a bit can also see fish from there.
It is the best snorkeling spot in the Nelson Bay/Port Stephens region, but do not expect to see colourful fishes and corals. You can see plenty more f fishes though. If you are in the area, it is definitely worth visiting.
A very hidden gem. Be ready to see crystal clear waters with plenty of fish and if you're lucky, you might see a shark (safe, they won't bite you). You can snorkel here too or just walk in knee-deep and be surrounded by many fish. Definitely and highly recommend.
One of my fav spots to snorkel, walk and dive in Australia. Very easy dive, does get quite busy though, and amazing walking tracks around. Has Sunday markets too which are quite average but nice to visit and support the locals. The sunset views on the beach are awesome!
