Average place to have breakfast. Saw amazing reviews and decided to try. However overrated. Iced mocha is alright not the best quality. I feel baristas in other cafes know the ratio of coffee to chocolate a bit better than here. They have vegetarian options. Service is a bit slow. Took 40 minutes for our order to be served. Customers that came after us were served before us and when asked why our food was taking so long we were told it was rush hour and that everyone was waiting long as well. Best thing on the menu would be the edamame fritters. They have toilet facilities in the cafe.
The external decor at Press Café Bowral is very inviting. Best suited to maximum four people outside anyway. We have a dog so we are always outside. Small awning so if it is drizzly it is ok. Very friendly service. Double espresso pretty good. We get hot milk on the side. Current menu Feb 2026.
Great spot in Bowral with a really welcoming feel. The Press Shop has a lovely atmosphere, excellent coffee, and beautifully presented food. Service was friendly and attentive, and it’s the kind of place that feels relaxed but still high quality. A perfect stop for breakfast, lunch, or a coffee while exploring Bowral. Highly recommend.
Visited after a recommendation. We loved our food. The Pancakes were real dry though. The service however, not even average. Two waitresses minding the section we were in, and yet no one came up to check on us after our orders were taken. As much as I hate to, we had to call them over to order things for e.g. another coffee or water. When asked for the bill we were quite arrogantly pointed to pay at the counter with no table numbers given to us. This resulted in the person at the counter trying to figure out where we were amongst other customers and longer queues to pay. If anything the food runner was great at her job. Served us with a smile, attempted to clear our table of empty cups and bottles and made us feel like we mattered. Not sure if we'll be visiting again. It's sad given how beautiful the venue is and the food is decent.
Service: The staff was very friendly, and we didn’t have to wait long to be seated on a busy Friday morning. (We were a group of nine.) As soon as we requested a baby chair, it was provided immediately. The gentleman who took our order was very polite and provided great service. Atmosphere: The atmosphere was great the area was clean, and we loved the Christmas tree. Food: This one’s a bit tough. Although it took a long time for the food to arrive, it was absolutely delicious, and the portions were generous for the price. The only reason I gave it 2 stars is because we found a dead snail in one of our dishes (the Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon under the kale leaf). When we mentioned it to the staff, she laughed at us, and only after we said it was unhygienic did she take it back and bring us another dish.
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
