Lovely historical and cosy pub which is dog friendly in the front bar. Sat here with my pooch laying next to the fire place in a cold day, enjoying pints and chatting to the friendly tourists and locals. Highly recommended!

Excellent lunch at the pub, it is a pub so they don't do table service. You have to order at the bar but they bring it to the table. There was a good range of choices, I had a very nice chicken schnitzel burger, with some of the best fries I have had in years. Properly crunchy. My hubby had sausages and mash and peas, he said they were tasty but although they were called Cumberland they were more Aussie style. The chicken parmi my nephew had was also generous and tasty. Only slight negative, we sat at the bench tables, as we had reserved in advance and that was what we were allocated. They don't have much leg room and you cannot move the bench, so for the tall men with me, this presented a challenge. There are lots of other tables at the rear but for whatever reason, we were not given one of those. On the whole, the prices seemed fair, and the food was good.

A great lunch at the Surveyor General Inn in Berrima. The old colonial building has lots of character and makes for a really enjoyable setting. The general burger was excellent — well cooked and full of flavour. The pork sausages and mash were comforting and tasty, with generous portions. The wine list is very good, with plenty of solid choices. Classic pub food done really well in a beautiful historic pub. Definitely worth a visit.

Nice place to stop for dinner. Not to busy and a cozy pub feel. Unfortunately menu stated certain foods are GF, but when you are ordering you are told they are not. A little disrespectful, and if the kitchen cant make the effort to get menu right you wonder what effort is made out the back when cooking. Menus are a sign of respect for quality work. Unfortunately the have not nailed this yet.

Beautiful Wagyu rump cooked perfectly medium rare, very tender & well seasoned. Peppercorn sauce was creamy & peppery.Staff very friendly & helpful. Live music on a Saturday evening & a great atmosphere with real fires.
