PepperGreen Estate is a pub in Berrima with an outdoor area. Dog access isn't confirmed, but venues with an outdoor area are often dog friendly, so it may be worth checking. Just 200m away, Berrima Market Place Park is a great nearby park for a walk with your dog.

We drove from Sydney just to have lunch here, as we were pleased with their food last time we visited. We arrived and were seated at a lovely corner table on the front veranda. We felt blessed to get this spot as the place was fully booked during the long weekend. The tables nearby were reserved for wine tastings and sharing plates, so the outdoor area was still quiet when we settled in. I told the waiter right away that we’d start with sourdough and olives—and before our seats had even warmed, they arrived, served with their famous olive oil. We couldn’t have been happier, as we’d been hungry for at least twenty minutes before arriving. Highly recommended to start the meal with the warmed soft sourdough with delicious olive oil and olives.🫒 My husband ordered an almond mocha while I had a soy chai latte. It is a cellar door, but wine just wasn’t on our minds 😅. For our entrée, we shared the white wine and leek risotto, finished with salsa verde. Then for mains, we both had the duck leg confit with pearl barley risotto, orange and star anise glaze, and blood plum chutney. We left absolutely stuffed 😮💨 and deeply satisfied. Even our cat enjoyed the duck—he kept giving me those looks as if asking for more 😅.
Highly recommended! This is our first time to try Peppergreen Estate very happy with the service, friendly ,attentive and professional. Excellent food, good ambience, very clean. I ended up buyjng their own Peppergreen extra virgin oil, it's worth an hour travel from Sydney. Will definitely comeback.
This was the first winery I visited in the area, and I was completely amazed by the experience. Mel gave me such a wonderful wine tasting — she’s incredibly knowledgeable, warm, and genuinely lovely. Cosimo was also so welcoming and thoughtful; when I felt a little tipsy, he even offered me a complimentary Coke, which was such a kind touch. Truly a memorable and heartwarming experience. Highly recommended. Music , also the best! Next time I’ll try food instead x looking forward to come back next time to bring more friend.
Great service, food was a bit of a miss. The front of house was fantastic and great service. We made a phone reservation earlier that must have gotten lost somewhere but when we arrived the owner made an extra table for us which we were very impressed with. However I found the food quite weird. The gravlax and rosti I had for the entree was quite nice and set my hopes high for the mains, however the mains we had were a bit strange. The steak I ordered was cooked nicely but was topped with a large bunch of raw spring onion, which really didn’t go well with it. This wasn’t too big of an issue though, as I could just remove it. However, the chicken biryani also had copious amounts of raw spring onion and raw chilli, and was served with bok choy. I usually love Indian-Chinese fusion but this was a real miss, as the Bok choy just didn’t pair well with the spices. In all fairness, the duck we ordered was also served with Bok choy, but the duck was cooked very well and worked well with the bok choy it was served with, and this was definitely the highlight dish of the day. Finally we also ordered a watermelon feta salad. This was quite nice at first, until I reached a bite with - once again - raw spring onion. The flavour of it was just so overpowering, and really didn’t belong in the light and fresh watermelon salad. The watermelon was also served in one large chunk which made for very nice and unique presentation, but did get a little unwieldy as we were trying to share the side, though overall this was not that big an issue. Altogether, forcing raw spring onion onto all of the dishes was a strange choice and just not tasty as every other bite would be completely overpowered by the taste of raw onion.
The best meal I’ve had in a long time. Couldn’t fault anything. The flavours were outstanding. Would highly recommend and will return again. We had 2 mains, 2 generous sides, 2 desserts, 2 glasses of wine and a bottle of mineral water costing $210. Was worth every cent. The waitstaff were professional and attentive.
