The Nepean River Trail at Camden is a quality riverside path with good views and park equipment along the way. Dogs are welcome on-leash for most of the trail, but are not permitted within Camden Town Farm, and some sections have stricter rules, so follow the signs. There is parking and shade at points. A scenic on-leash river walk, with a few areas to watch.
Dog rules
Dogs are permitted on-leash along the Nepean River Trail under the NSW Companion Animals Act, except within Camden Town Farm where dogs are not permitted. Dogs must be under effective control at all times. (Source: Camden Council.)

This trail is great quality and has great views and park equipment but there are very strict rules for parts of this trail. For a lot of the trail you are not allowed to take a dog or a bike but there is still a section where you can. I think this path is great for walking but if you are taking a dog or cycling you will be limited.

The section of the trail around the cricket ground IS dog friendly. Gavin rates this it a one because he is too lazy to find appropriate places to exercise his dog! Here's some information for you Gav. There is a huge area, just a few metres away from where you were, in the equestrian centre that is dog friendly (some areas are off leash at certain times, please READ the signs). The trail section around the farm is not dog friendly because there is cattle in the fields. Council ruling is for the well-being of the cows because some people are inconsiderate and let their dogs roam free where ever they like and this disturbs the cows. Camden Council area is blessed with a huge amount of off leash areas for dogs.

Wonderful project by Camden Council. Great idea to have 2 distinct sections. Close to the cricket ground is a path with a good variety of exercise equipment, and further around is a long, wide path that loops around the entire Camden Town Farm.
