Dog rules

Canterbury-Bankstown City Council's "Pet-friendly parks and reserves" page states: "please remember to keep your dog on a leash unless the reserve is classified as a 'dog off-leash area'." The council's "Animals and pets" page summarises this as: "Keeping your dog on a leash, unless in a designated off-leash area." This venue is not on Canterbury-Bankstown's published off-leash list, so the council's general on-leash rule applies under the NSW Companion Animals Act 1998. Wetlands with boarded paths n bridges that lead to adjacent reserves along Salt Pan Creek a really nice walk - u forget u are in the city! There’s ovals, picnic area’s, children’s playground, bush land, ducks & wild life. Make sure u leave the paths b4 sunset as it can get really dark especially if u are still in the wetlands - u will definitely need ur phone’s torch! Also, the mozzies start attacking! A lot of people bring their dog for the walk as well. and it’s a great experience for them. We took Scar for a run at one of the ovals but the rest of the time he had to be kept on leash. Also keep in mind u will cross paths with many other dog walkers on the boardwalk, like if ur dog is reactive…

Great little place for a wonder or dog walk for when you are stuck in Rivo and need to clear your head. Saw this guy there the other morning, Tawny Frogmouth owl. Winning.

This is a nice place, but I hope someone can address the issue of litter and rubbish.

Great place to go for a walk/run with linked tracks all the way around. Council really need a foot in the behind to get down there and clean it up a bit. Other than that, it's a great place to exercise. Some great flora and fauna along the way to look at also.
