McLaughlin Oval is a well-regarded dog-friendly park in Riverwood where dogs are welcome on lead. You'll find parking nearby.
Dogs are welcome on-leash at McLaughlin Oval, a Canterbury-Bankstown Council park. Under the NSW Companion Animals Act 1998, dogs must be kept on a lead and under the effective control of a competent person, and are prohibited within 10 metres of children's play equipment and food preparation areas. Off-leash exercise is permitted only in Council's designated off-leash areas.
The oval is great to play sports or any activities as it's a really bug area. As for the playground though, it could really be improved. There's not much to it, even has one tall stare case for kids to climb but it doesn't lead anywhere.
It's a shame that just beyond the oval at the entrance to Salt Pan Reserve someone has vandalised the bridge by setting fire to it! There are limited places to go in lockdown and this is another opportunity lost.
A good place to walk, jog or run. Few people cycle or ride their scooters. You may pump into a game or see some teams practise. There is a nearby playground for small kids. A decent size car park is available. Have fun and stay healthy.
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
