The Coffee Emporium

Mimi and the staff are beautiful. Always smiling and happy. The coffee is the best in Westpoint. We are long time customers and are welcomed daily by name. Comfy cafe with yummy food. Easy to sit and chat or grab a takeaway.

I have a disability, and was dining in with a support worker. The food was good, the coffee okay, but the music was so loud that my support worker and I had to shout to be heard. My support worker asked them to turn the music down as we couldn’t hear ourselves speak, but even after that we had to continue to shout to make ourselves heard. Then a staff member asked us to give up a table for a couple who liked to sit near where we were. The reason we’d joined the two tables together was because it was so cramped you couldn’t squeeze between the tables to access the seat. We were also trying to have a private conversation and wanted our own space. Since the elderly couple were moved towards our seats we decided to take the table they vacated. The couple were apologetic. They said they’d been happy with where they were and didn’t want to move into our space but felt obliged to because of the staff worker. This is sad for me. I used to like going to the coffee emporium. At this stage, I can’t see myself ever visiting this cafe again. I’d be interested to know if the cafe has a policy around accomodating people with disabilities or not. If they do, perhaps if I had explained my situation to them, they wouldn’t have caused me the distress they did today.

They have really good coffee! I have had their iced oat latte and found it delicious. I also tried the iced watermelon earl grey tea which was amazing. They have a variety of pastries showcased at the counter but I’ve only tried the lamington which didn’t disappoint. Will definitely go again

Coffee Emporium is located on the ground floor of Westpoint Blacktown in the fresh food precinct. Their " avocado" dish is a wonderful variation of the classic smashed avo on toast, albeit with a half avocado chunk and toasted foccacia strip. It was a meal in itself, garnished with whipped feta, tomato slices and tangy sauce. Highly recommended and very reasonably priced. Friendly staff.
