What people say
Had the brisket with hummus and it was spot on super tender, flavourful brisket with creamy hummus and fresh flatbread. The combo worked perfectly. Also had an iced latte which was really smooth. Portion sizes are generous, service was quick and friendly, and the vibe is relaxed. Definitely recommend. Came here second time, amazed by the steak so yum
Visited this place and we really enjoyed the Brisket Sando and the Smoked Wagyu Kaak. Both were equally delicious, and the portion of chips was generous, perfectly crispy, and well seasoned. A great spot to stop by and try a few of their dishes.
First time at Nineteen43 and I loved it. I came in for dinner and ordered the lahmacun – like a manoush-style flatbread with spiced minced meat on top, almost like an open pizza. The base was thin and crisp on the edges, soft in the middle, and the topping was really well-seasoned and satisfying. We also had the hummus with pulled lamb. The lamb itself was tender, generous in portion and full of flavour, and it really brought the whole dish together. If I had to nit-pick, the hummus could have had a touch more punch, but overall it was still a very enjoyable and great value dish. The atmosphere was warm and relaxed, and we were welcomed straight away. Our waiter Qasim was friendly, easy to talk to and genuinely helpful throughout the night. Prices were reasonable for the quality and portions, and it’s a great spot for a hearty meal with authentic Lebanese-style food. I’d definitely come back and would happily recommend Nineteen43 to others.
I've been going to Nineteen43 since it was in Rockdale and couldn't believe my eyes when it popped up in Brighton after the fire that hit the building in Rockdale. I could talk about the shakshuka, the brisket and hummus, the Lahmi Bajeen that are all out of this world, but what made me absolutely have to post this review shocked me. Anyway, I turned up one day and this Asian guy is the barista. Asian guy in the Lebanese place. I'm trying to paint a picture of how unlikely my experience would end up being. I ordered a chai latte because I was trying to avoid having 20 coffees in a single day. I order this chai latte and I took my first sip, then another and another and the thing disappeared like a magic trick. I'm not even exaggerating when I say this was easily the most delicious chai latte I have ever had by miles. I ordered a second one and smashed that one, then ordered a different drink to have a rest and got given another chai latte and smashed that as well. I thought I was going to turn into a pile of spices. I told them I was going to post a review and then didn't do it, and I find myself in this cafe again, same barista and I'm on my 3rd chai latte again. It's too delicious. The food and service is amazing, but let's keep this chai latte a secret between you and me because if everyone finds out how good this place is, then I'll never be able to get a seat.
Very friendly service and great food! We popped in for brunch and were pleasantly surprised. Ordered corn fritter and shakshuka which were really delicious, we are definitely ordering coffee pot for two again. A young man who served us was very pleasant and courteous.
