What people say
I was disappointed with my experience at this cafe. Even though we were the only customers, it took 36 minutes to get a simple plates of eggs. UNBELIEVABLE!!! When the food finally arrived, the bacon was extremely overcooked—so tough it was hard to even bite. The bread was soft and soggy in the middle but very hard on the outside, almost like old bread that had been dampened to seem fresh. Overall, the food was overly salty and not enjoyable. The girls staff were friendly and polite, but the place itself felt greasy and not very well looked after. There’s not high chair for kids so if you with your kids, think about it. With so many cafes in the area, I don’t think I’ll be coming back.
Food is delicious over there and mocha coffee is very tasty. I would recommend to go and enjoy food and drinks in babel cafe.
We are travelling from Canada and decided to come to Babel for breakfast. Overall, I can’t say we were very happy with our experience. I am writing this review one hour after I ordered, and we are still waiting for one of our meals. There are four of us and each meal came out one at a time, I think the guy that is cooking is only preparing one meal at a time. When we got here, there was only two staff on when really there should have been three. There were a number of other people that were here before us still waiting for their food or coffees. A beautiful lady by the name of Cora was running around, taking orders, running cutlery to the tables, apologizing and doing her best to help out. I don’t believe she is an employee however I do believe the manager should definitely be giving her something if not a job!. As the food arrived at our table, one meal at a time with about a 15min gap between each, there were a number of issues. I’ve attached a photo of what should have been a classic omelette looks more like a deconstructed omelette. The French toast came to the table with banana and strawberries however, it should’ve had banana and bacon according to the menu. But our 13yo boy was to hungry to care. I do hope management and the owners really focus on staffing on a public holiday and also experience of staff would probably go a long way as well. The food itself was good I have to admit, the atmosphere of the café was fine. A little hot inside but that’s to be expected this time of year.
Babel is my go to Cafe, food is good, atmosphere is good, Baristas are amazing especially Benzo. Richard the owner is so down to earth and interacts with his customers.
A place to grab some cafe and breakfast classics, coffee and cakes but the menu is otherwise quite uninteresting compared to other offerings around the area. Similarly, the quality of the food and coffee are OK, and doesn't stand out. Prices are about average, but they do have some deals you should look out for like special menu items or deals including a coffee which are decent value. Staff are generally OK, but don't seem to make any attempt to wear facemasks.
