Bar Copains is adorable and the food is elite. It's the perfect place for share plates and catching up with friends. Every dish was sensational, highly recommend the anchony puff pastry, the chicken liver parfait, the King George Whiting sandwich - fried and crispy fish on fluffy white bread perfections - and you'd be crazy not to shove the potato scallops in your mouth - they were so good!! Thick slices of potato in a tempura-like battter. The setting is cosy and outdoor seating for a casual drop in is also available. 10/10 would try all the same dishes again and discover some new one. Adding Bar Copains to the rotation!

We had such a delicious meal here. We got the sourdough, pig fritti, comte tarts, whiting sandwich, rigatoni, steak, potatoes and raspberry dessert. Everything was delicious and we enjoyed every dish. Just keep in mind that while they do have indoor seating, the majority of tables are outside and can get a little cramped. While we had a beautiful sunny day to enjoy our meal, it probably isn't somewhere I'd go if the weather wasn't great. Prepare also to wait if you don't have a reservation - while walk-ins are taken, we went at 4.30pm on a Saturday and still had to wait for a table

Incredible Wine Bar Vibes in Surry Hills. We started with a 'Puncheon Darts' Prosecco (served in their iconic smiley-face glasses). Special shoutout to the very friendly staff—they were welcoming, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience feel like we’re at a friend's place. The Standouts: • Bacon & Comte Custard Tart: Incredibly savory and delicate. • Pigs Head Fritti with Sauce Gribiche: The perfect crunch—so flavorful. • Mille-feuille: The juicy raspberries and crisp layers were the perfect sweet finish. The food is high-quality without being pretentious, and the atmosphere is 10/10. Can’t wait to come back!

My friends and I planned to hangout there and made a booking the night before, but I accidentally booked the wrong number of guests. I emailed the restaurant team for help, and they were incredibly accommodating and quickly adjusted our booking. The service from the Bar Copains team was truly impressive. The food was delicious, perfectly paired with wine. All the staff were very friendly, especially Isaac, who did an amazing job recommending both food and wine for us. Everyone served us with genuine smiles throughout the night, even though the restaurant was busy. Highly impressed and would definitely come back!

Thanks guys, I had a great time last night. Staff were entertaining and lovely. The food was flavour driven and with a good variety of both texture and size - everything is quite savoury, which is good for a wine bar. Wines on the other hand were limited in choice and all served in tasting glasses - which is practical for the venue but doesn’t do any favours to the wine you’ll drink. The Amaro Creme Caramel - I can’t see them taking that off the menu. Just perfect. 👌🏼 Worth a visit for the atmosphere alone - an exercise in carefully controlled chaos.
