The male staff member who served me with a takeaway meal order was very pleasant and helpful. Sorry I didn't get his name (short dark hair). A big shout out to him for his service. I only ordered the Special of a rump steak, as I wanted something plain. He kindly suggested adding steamed vegies as I didn't want the chips & salad. Unfortunately the steak, that looked & smelled fabulous, was quite tough, so I only ate half. The steamed vegies were perfect. Food is usually good, so I won't order the Rump Special again.
This old-school pub takes me straight back to the 70s, growing up in Forest Lodge and watching the Harold Park trots from the top of the hill. I love that it’s kept its classic character—it feels authentic and welcoming every time I walk in. The meals? Absolutely unbeatable. I’ve been stopping by nearly every second day while having treatment at Chris O’Brien Lifehouse, and the staff have been nothing short of amazing—genuine, kind, and always attentive. The food is just as impressive: big, hearty, no-nonsense plates that leave you more than satisfied. The burgers especially… massive, juicy, and full of flavour. The Alfred truly serves up the best burgers in the Inner West, hands down. Today I’m showing off the legendary Allfred Burger—and on Mondays you can get it for just $16. Outstanding value at one of the best pubs around.
The best food, large sizes for prices that don't break the bank. Nice and close to the RPA hospital. Staff are lovely and welcoming. Will definitely be back next time I'm in Sydney.
The Alfred Hotel feels like the perfect mix between old and new. It has some of the classic features of the older style pubs. Tiles. Trough. Beer Posters. Then it has large screen TVs, a good menu, a dining area, 18 beers and ciders on tap, coffee machine, and bright decor. Thanks for a great experience.
Such a pleasant place to visit. Friendly staff and had a nice breakfast experience. The place will give you a feel of the 70s 80s bars even though few of the areas have got renovated. The coffee stall setup the hotel had an amazing coffee. Highly recommended for a drink or to eat in.
